Real Estate

We certainly understand that the current real estate market is as challenging as ever and here is how we promise to address your individual needs:

Communication and Information:
We are committed to being accessible to you at all times and to keeping you informed about the status of your closing file along the way. We guarantee prompt responses to your questions and requests, and we will do our best to exceed your expectations.

Convenience and Service:
We understand that you and your clients may have specific needs. We will be happy to work with you to meet those by arranging our attorneys to perform off-site closings, split closings, mail-aways, etc. We will do everything within our power to ensure that your closings occur on the day and at the time when scheduled.

Knowledge and Speed:
We believe that fully understanding the other aspects of real estate transactions in addition to the legal work allows us to provide more comprehensive service. Therefore we employ staff members who have worked for lenders, appraisers, mortgage brokers and real estate companies to broaden our knowledge base. By drawing upon their years of industry experience and technology, we are able to move more quickly than most firms. We are able to close transactions in days versus weeks.

Cost and Value:
As a smaller firm we possess a strategic advantage in two areas over our larger competitors. First, we are able to provide closing services with lower fees as we are not burdened by significant operating expenses and overhead. Secondly, we promise you that your real estate closing is more important to us than it would be to the large firms and this value is evident in the way we treat your closing.

Our firm is equipped to handle all aspects of residential and commercial real estate closings, including:

  • Title Examinations
  • Document Preparation
  • Settlement and Disbursement Services
  • Foreclosure
  • Contract Preparation
  • Issuance of Title Insurance

Wills and Probate

Upon the death of a loved one, it is important to retain an attorney who is not only competent in the laws of probate, but also compassionate to individuals who have recently lost a loved one. We are experienced in the administration of the Georgia estate. We assist and advise Executors and/or family members in preparing the appropriate forms to be filed with the Probate Court, notifying necessary parties, collecting and marshaling assets and distributing assets to the proper beneficiaries after a loved one’s death.

In an effort to help your family focus on your grief, rather than your legal concerns, Mr. Odom offers advice on each step in the probate process, including:

  • Petitioning the Court
  • Naming an Executor
  • Notification of Heirs
  • Accounting and Valuation of the Estate
  • Payment of Creditors
  • Payment of Taxes
  • Closing of the Estate and Probate Process

Foundational Estate Planning

  • Wills
  • Living Wills
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Health Care Directives

DUI

After defending hundreds of DUI cases, we put that knowledge and experience to work for you. If you are charged with driving under the influence or any other traffic offense, it’s important for your lawyer to understand the issues that are unique to these types of cases. Some traffic influences carry mandatory jail time and mandatory drivers’ license suspensions. Too many people plead guilty to DUI or traffic offenses thinking they are getting a good deal, only to find out later some of the costly hidden consequences. As experienced DUI attorneys, we represent clients in Coweta, Meriwether, Heard, Troup and Carroll Counties.
